Austin 7 Van

Type 'RP'

The van was supplied to a William Williams of High street Bangor Caernarfonshire, in October 1934. We don't know what business Mr Williams was in, but he kept the van until 1948. Then the van was sold to Mr T Humphries who we assume was the Post Master at Llandegfan near Beaumaris on Anglesey.

He kept it until 1966 when it changed hands to a Thomas Dewhurst of Rossendale Lancs. Then it was sold in 1968 to Mr P Kay of Fallowfeild Manchester, Ian Grieves of Chesterfield and then south in 1970 to Tunbridge wells to George Veness.

Then to Dan Doncaster of Colchester in 1978, who had a collection of Austin sevens. Then to David Teasdale in 1983, who dismantled it in preporation for restoration. In September 1998 it was sold to Mrs Walker of stanmore, it arrived in boxes and with many parts missing. Then the long task of restoring the van started. it has taken over 10 years.

The van had an engine rebuild over 2014-15 after the crankshaft failed.
