Scammell NGF 120


This Scammell type 20 LA Ballast tractor NGF 120 (fleet no. M750) was new to Pickfords in 1952 .It was one of two Meadows powerd ballast tractors ordered by Pickfords, the other 20 LA was registered as NGF122 (fleet no. M751).

After some 10 years Pickfords disposed of them both to Rush Green Motors of Hitchin, after a week it was sold to Bent Marshall heavy haulage company in Essex, then it passed in to preservation and was purchased by Edgar Shone of Crown Steam Haulage where it was used to haul Sentinel steam lorries and a Fowler ploughing engine. The Scammell was restored during 80's and now is in it origonal Pickfords livery.
